The first tune celebrates Philip Astley, a famous horseman who opened the first circus, in London, in the 1770s.The second tune is played for dancers in Rochdale who, at Easter, peform their traditonal dance in the streets wearing "nuts" (wooden discs) on their hands, knees and belt.
